Refunds and receipts

This guide explains how to issue refunds and send receipts for completed transactions using the Zavo dashboard or mobile app.

Viewing a transaction

On both the dashboard and mobile app:

  1. Go to the Home page or Transactions

  2. Select a transaction

On the transaction details page, you can see:

  • Date and time of the transaction

  • Transaction amount

  • Fees charged on that transaction

At the bottom of the page, you’ll see two options:

  • Issue refund

  • Send receipt


Issuing a refund

Steps

  1. Open the transaction

  2. Tap Issue refund

  3. The original transaction amount will be shown

  4. Enter the refund amount

    • You can refund any amount up to the original transaction amount

  5. Select a refund reason

  6. Tap Refund now


Refund processing time

  • Refunds are processed back to the customer’s bank account within 24–48 hours

  • Processing time may vary depending on the customer’s bank


Fees on refunded transactions

  • Transaction fees are not refunded

  • The original payment fee remains deducted from your Zavo balance


Sending a receipt

Zavo allows you to send digital receipts to your customers by email.

Steps

  1. Open the transaction

  2. Tap Send receipt

  3. Enter the customer’s email address

  4. Send the receipt

The receipt will be delivered directly to the customer’s inbox.
