Tap to Pay Guide

Tap to Pay lets you accept contactless card payments directly on your iPhone or Android phone using the Zavo mobile app. No additional hardware is required.

What you need

  • A compatible iPhone or Android device

  • The Zavo mobile app installed

  • An active internet connection (Wi-Fi or mobile data)


Taking a Tap to Pay payment

  1. Open the Zavo mobile app

  2. Tap Charge in the bottom navigation bar

  3. Enter the payment amount

  4. Tap Charge

The first time you use Tap to Pay, setup may take up to 30 seconds.

Once ready:
5. A payment screen will appear on your phone
6. Ask the customer to tap their card or device on your phone
7. Wait for the payment confirmation


After the payment

  • A confirmation appears on screen

  • You can choose to send a digital receipt by email or skip sending a receipt

  • The transaction syncs instantly with your dashboard


Supported payments

Tap to Pay supports:

  • Contactless cards

  • Apple Pay

  • Google Pay


Tap to Pay troubleshooting

If you experience an error when using Tap to Pay, try the following:

  1. Restart the Zavo app

  2. If the issue continues, reinstall the app

  3. Make sure your phone is connected to Wi-Fi or mobile data

  4. Ensure you are not on an active phone call

If issues persist after these steps, contact Zavo Support.
