Payment failed to start

Issue:

You see an error saying the payment failed to start.

What to check:

  • Make sure the transaction amount is greater than £1

  • Very small amounts (for example, £0.01) may cause the transaction to fail

Resolution:

  • Increase the payment amount to £1 or more

  • Try starting the payment again

Terminal internet connection issues

Issue:

The terminal is slow, disconnecting, or unable to process payments.

Resolution:

  1. Restart the terminal

    • Press and hold the Power button

    • Select Restart

  2. After restarting, check your connection:

    • Ensure the terminal is connected to Wi-Fi

    • Confirm there is 4G coverage in your area

Recommendation:

While Zavo Pro includes built-in 4G roaming, Wi-Fi provides the most reliable connection.

For best performance, we recommend using Wi-Fi alongside 4G.

Terminal cannot be assigned to your account

Issue:

The terminal does not assign to your Zavo account during setup.

What to check:

  • Confirm the terminal serial number is entered correctly

  • Check for extra spaces or incorrect characters

Resolution:

If the issue persists:

  • Contact Zavo Support, or

  • Speak with your Account Manager

There may be an account or configuration issue that requires manual review.

When to contact support

Contact Zavo Support if:

  • The issue continues after restarting the terminal

  • Payments repeatedly fail despite a good connection

  • The terminal cannot be assigned after multiple attempts
