What is Tap to Pay?

Tap to Pay allows you to accept in-person payments directly on your phone—no additional hardware required. Integrated into the Zavo app, this feature lets you accept debit and credit cards, as well as Apple Pay and Google Pay, in just a few simple steps. Your customer simply taps their payment card or mobile wallet against your phone, just like they would with a traditional card reader.

With Tap to Pay, your phone becomes your payment device, making it easy to take payments without the hassle of buying or managing extra equipment.


Is there an additional fee for Tap to Pay?

No, Tap to Pay transactions does not incur an additional processing fee. You will be charged the same as your account plan.


Can I still use other payment methods?

Absolutely! Tap to Pay is just one of the many ways to take payments with Zavo. You can continue using other methods, such as our card readers whenever you need.


Tap to Pay on iPhone

To use Tap to Pay on an iPhone, you'll need:

  • An iPhone XS or later running iOS 16.4 or higher.

  • Note: Tap to Pay is not available on iPads.

There are no transaction limits with Tap to Pay on iPhone. For payments above the contactless limit, your customer will be prompted to enter their PIN directly on the device.


Tap to Pay on Android

For Android users, the requirements are:

  • A phone running Android 11 or higher.

Like iPhone, there are no transaction limits on Android devices. For payments exceeding the contactless limit, customers will enter their PIN via the device.
